Mining the Beauty of Michigan's Copper Country

I just returned from my childhood home in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  Here are a few photos from our trip:

Quincy Mine shaft, Hancock, Michigan

Brockway Mountain, Copper Harbor, Michigan

View of Lake Superior from Brockway Mountain summit

A different type of log cabin: sliced vs. stacked logs and glass bottles!

Eagle River shoreline

Camping fun at McLean State Park between Hancock and Calumet, Michigan

Natural driftwood sculpture

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.

Fading light, dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.
From afar, drawing nigh, falls the night.

Thanks and praise, for our days,
'Neath the sun, 'neath the stars, neath the sky;
As we go, this we know, God is nigh.

Hi Vicki,
This is a beautiful post. Just looking at all the beautiful water and the folks in jackets by the fire reminds me of a cooler time and gives me hope that maybe someday we will see rain and cool weather again. Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a great Sunday!
